Traditional Holiday Centerpiece

Traditional Holiday Centerpiece

Every year I create beautiful candle centerpiece for the table. And, every year there is so much food that the centerpiece gets banished from the table. Why, oh why? Because it is tradition! Besides that, the food is on the table for just a few hours. Soon, the table is cleared and the centerpiece is returned to its intended home. A fresh flower centerpiece can be enjoyed for several days. Long after the dinner is eaten, dishes washed and leftovers put away, the centerpiece sits on the table as a reminding of the wonderful celebration. Now you know why I create a lovely centerpiece that gets banished – don’t you agree it is a very good tradition? Don’t forget, it is time to order your centerpiece today!

A Cheerful Holiday Greeting

Holiday Greeting

Little touches can make the home a cozy oasis in the winter months. For maximum impact, start with a welcoming burst of color greeting arriving guests at your home. A vivid wreath of rose hips says “welcome”. A coordinating basket says “stay awhile”. Add the scent of spiced tea and your home will announce, “I am glad you are here”. Set the stage, go outside. Now, open the door and come in…don’t you feel wonderfully welcomed? Little things make the home cozy for you, your family and your friends.

Holiday Traditions

Christmas Traditions

Decorating the tree, choosing the biggest poinsettia, baking cookies, wrapping the gifts and of course, singing Christmas carols from morning to night. Oh, how I love the traditions of the holiday season. I remember my grandfather used to buy the perfect red poinsettia for my grandmother. My own father continued the annual living gift for my mom. Over the years the poinsettia plant has been bred to produce bigger more luxurious blooms. Colors can range from the traditional red to pink, white, peach, yellow and even speckled petals. Today, my husband continues the poinsettia gift tradition bringing me the most unique plant he can find. Each year, I wait to see…just what will it be this time? A hanging basket, the mammoth sized tub, the sparkling surprise of a glitter dusted plant, or…it’s sure to be a grand surprise.

Holiday Entertaining

November Entertaining

As the weather cools and the trees drop their leaves, it is time to entertain inside. A warm and cozy house filled with flowers is an inviting beginning to a wonderful evening of conversation and laughter. Start with a textural grapevine wreath, add a collection of colorful autumn leaves and you just need a few of your favorite flowers placed in water-tubes and tucked in place. Of course, candlelight adds cozy ambiance. My favorite candle trick is to hollow an apple core and tuck in a votive. Now you just need to heat the spiced cider and invite your friends over for a visit.

Flowers and Candles

Flowers and Candles

Oh how I love decorating the house for autumn and winter. These seasons find me snuggled inside the cozy warm house. Candles and flowers are scattered about. Votives, pillars, tapers… I love them all. Each night as the sun sets, you will find me lighting the room with the romantic ambiance of candle light. Some nights it’s just me and my favorite book to enjoy the warmth. Others are friend filled evenings of games and conversation. The evening ritual of lighting the candles makes every night a special night – a special gift to myself and my family.

The New India Luxury Collection

With the new India collection, Flora2000 launches an array of exquisite bouquets and centerpieces for our Indian patrons.

These new floral creations are made of the finest flowers and trimmed with stylish accessories. Exquisite lilies – vivid Asiatics and subtly scented Stargazers, chic orchids, ambrosial tube-roses and velvety carnations constitute a veritable oasis of charm and elegance.

The collection carries a range of floral arrangements from ‘Petites’— small, tightly bound  clusters of vivid flowers arranged in glass cubes (ideal for desktops) to ‘Bouquets’ wrapped in delicate crêpe or tissue to majestic ‘Table-tops’ arranged in tall glass vases. They are often ornamented with satin-edged gossamer ribbons, golden tassels or fragrant cinnamon sticks. Our pièce de résistance is ‘Moments’— an assortment of elegant floral masterpieces for specific special occasions.

Each arrangement, crafted by our team of floral designers, is a work of art. Feast your eyes on this exquisite collection.

Gather your friends and create a feast; light the candles and enjoy!

India Collection – The Making

With the arrival of our New India collection, we offer our patrons a luxurious range of floral masterpieces to turn special occasions into affairs to remember. The making of such a collection requires understanding, skill, patience and, a passion and thirst for perfection.

Each arrangement is created with the cumulative efforts of an entire team of floral designers. Hours are spent in getting the right blend of different flowers which would complement the composition and flush of the arrangement. Multiple combination’s are tested and tried until the right collection of flowers is used. Every detail of the flower such as it’s leaves, stems, it’s length, is scrutinized before selecting just the right accessories for it; the perfect vase, delicate ribbons and the most robust wrapping to name a few. Spices and fruits add just the right touch to make these arrangements into wholesome and innovative masterpieces.

After these amazing arrangements are completed, a photo shoot follows. An entire team is at the arrangements disposal to keep in mind the lighting, backgrounds, surfaces, hues, color combination’s, camera angles etc. Countless shots are taken of one arrangement until the perfect picture is obtained. The image is viewed with a fine eye and if required, the entire process is repeated if the creation is an iota away from perfection.

Over 400 designs were brought to the stage of blue prints but after a rigorous process, only 50 made it to our catalogue after they were scrutinized by a panel of floral connoisseurs.

We hope you enjoy our arrangements as much as we enjoyed creating them.

Innocence – Children’s Day

Children's Day

What fun it is to be a child; seemingly endless days playing and enjoying. While some of my friends played tea party, I always played florist. Yes, even as a child, I knew this is where I belonged. You could often find me outside gathering flowers – most often daisies and dandelions from the fields. Occasionally the neighbors prized roses or zinnias (don’t tell my mom!).

Daisies would lead to a game of “he loves me – he loves me not”. I’d pluck petals until I found the bloom that ended just the way I wanted.

Sweet peas with their long trailing stems would wind together to create a fluffy pink halo.

Dandelions became sunshine bouquets to share with everyone.

Today, I still gather daisies and sweet peas. You are never too old to be a child.

Children’s Day is around the corner. Bring out your inner child and enjoy flowers and nature itself.
